The original restaurant in Covent Garden has a reputation for catering to London’s theatre stars and visiting celebrities. The Ivy brand is expanding to other UK cities and opened in Edinburgh at St Andrew’s Square. The plans for the new brasserie in Glasgow city centre are expected to create 150 new jobs.
The conversion of the building will include a bar and restaurant on the ground floor with a second restaurant space on the first floor.
A representative of the restaurant group previously stated: “The Ivy Collection has been granted planning permission for a space on 106 Buchanan Street, to open a brasserie in early 2019. The restaurant will feature an all-day dining menu and will be open 7 days a week.
“The Ivy Collection is a group of restaurants, brasseries and cafés, established in London and now growing regionally across the UK, offering accessible, all-day dining for locals and visitors alike. Each location is carefully handpicked to value, reflect and add to the local area.”
