The Killers will play a set at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut following their headline show at TRNSMT festival tomorrow.
Tickets for the venue, which NME described as “quite possibly the finest small venue in the world”, went on sale on Friday morning for fan club members and TRNSMT ticket holders on a first come first served basis.
The tickets sold out in just one minute with a spokesperson for the venue saying this was “the fastest selling show ever at Tut’s.”
Speaking to The Daily Record, drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr said: “We plan to play TRNSMT then right afterwards play King Tut’s.”
“I’m curious to see what that will do to my brain. I think it will bring back memories…We were going to open it up to the public but worried about announcing it on stage on Sunday because of the level of interest and the amount of people arriving. It might be a hazard.”
Looking back on his first time playing King Tut’s, Vannucci Jr added: “Back then playing King Tut’s in some ways we knew we would do well. But in some ways you still have doubts.”
“We’ve been damn lucky and Brandon feels the same we are very fortunate to be where we are and afford the lifestyle.”
The Killers last played King Tut’s in 2004.
