Coldplay will shortly take to the stage at Hampden tonight. They remain one of the biggest bands in the world with a dynamic Head Full of Dreams tour taking over international stadiums this summer.
19 year old Canadian singer Alessia Cara warmed up the crowd before Coldplay’s multi-stage cavalcade of hits got underway.
Dismissed by many as beige, they do have the hits and a show packed with fireworks, LED lights and set changes. Shoe-gazing ballads give way to up-tempo dance bangers across a back catalogue that took the band from small stages to big arenas. Like it or not, this will be one of the gigs of the year.
