The Kelvingrove Cafe will welcome six female bartenders from Australia for an event showcasing some of the world’s best female bar talent.
The event, ‘Tales of the Café’, is part of The Balvenie Stories UK Tour, a series of events designed to celebrate the art of storytelling.
During the event, guests can enjoy seven cocktails crafted using the latest expressions from The Balvenie Distillery – each cocktail designed by the visiting talent and Kelvingrove Café’s head bartender, Kesia McHardy.

Kirstie Addis, GM of Kelvingrove Cafe, said, “We are incredibly proud to have such a strong female contingency here at Kelvingrove Cafe and look forward to welcoming the ladies from Australia tomorrow night. Not only is it a celebration of women in the industry, but also one of Scotland’s best whiskies, The Balvenie. It’s going to be a really special night.”

Each of the eight participating bartenders have crafted a bespoke cocktail recipe, available for one night only. The event is free and cocktails are priced at £8.50 each.
A portion of the proceeds from the night will be donated to helping to tackle the fires in Australia. Kelvingrove Cafe has sat in the heart of Finnieston since 1896, when it first opened as an Italian ice cream and soda house. Since reopening in 2013, the bar has returned to its roots and carved out a position as one of Scotland’s leading contemporary European-style drinking dens.
