A new international trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice has been released, featuring previously unseen footage and teasing the film’s explosive action sequences.
A follow-up of sorts to Man of Steel, which introduced the latest iteration of Superman, the movie acts as a prelude to next year’s Justice League film which will unite some of DC Comics greatest heroes.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will open in Glasgow cinemas on 25th March.
Directed by Zack Snyder, the film brings Ben Affleck’s Batman face to face with Henry Cavill’s Superman.
Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice also stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Holly Hunter as a US Senator, Jeremy Irons as Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred, Laurence Fishburne as newspaper editor Perry White and Diane Lane as Superman’s adoptive mother Martha Kent.
The plot synopsis explains: “At long last, see Batman and Superman square off against each other in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, an epic superhero showdown which will change both their lives forever.
“Clark Kent doesn’t trust Gotham’s mysterious masked vigilante. Bruce Wayne doesn’t trust the alien who nearly destroyed Metropolis. And Lex Luthor, who hates Superman more than anyone, is manipulating both of them for his own twisted ends.”
Ben Affleck is expected to direct, co-write and star in a stand-alone Batman film set for release in 2018.
