TRNSMT Festival organisers have revealed Stormzy, Catfish and the Bottlemen, George Ezra, Gerry Cinnamon and Snow Patrol, will play the Main Stage at the 2019 edition of the Glasgow festival.
TRNSMT and partners Utilita Energy put the announcement of its 2019 line-up in the hands of fans today, as a live Facebook feed teased cryptic song lyrics to allow them to piece together the acts on the bill. The full list of acts confirmed today, playing across two stages and three days this summer are
Friday 12th July will see Stormzy, Gerry Cinnamon, Years & Years, AJ Tracey, Fredo, Aminé, Mabel and Gus Dapperton on the Main Stage plus Example, Mist, Mahalia, Jimothy, The Big Moon, Cassia and Kobi Onyame on the King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Energy Stage.
Saturday 13th July will feature Catfish and the Bottlemen, Bastille, Richard Ashcroft, DMA’s, Sigrid, Sundara Karma, The Snuts and Sam Fender on the Main Stage plus The Hunna, Steve Mason, Jade Bird, Fontaines D.C., Cavetown, The Dunts, Arkells and Skinny Lister on the King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Energy Stage.
Sunday 14th July closes the 2019 festival in style with George Ezra, Snow Patrol, Jess Glynne, The Kooks, The Wombats, Tom Grennan and The Amazons on the Main Stage and Circa Waves, Mystery Jets, SWMRS, Catherine McGrath, Sea Girls, Retro Video Club and Whenyoung on the King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Energy Stage.
TRNSMT will take place in Glasgow Green from 12-14 July 2019, with tickets on sale from Friday 22nd February at 9AM. Fans are reminded that there is a payment plan available, making their TRNSMT ticket more affordable, spread across three payments throughout the year.

Glasgow City Council leader Cllr Susan Aitken said: “TRNSMT has become a welcome addition to Glasgow’s world-renowned live music offer in just a few short years, reinforcing the city’s standing as one synonymous with successfully hosting major events. Attracting 200,000 fans over five days last year, along with bringing some of the biggest names in music to a festival in the heart of the city generated a major lift for the Glasgow economy worth millions of pounds. Tourism, hospitality and leisure businesses supporting hundreds of jobs really feel the benefit when we pull off a major event, at the same time as our city’s reputation for vibrancy and vitality receives another boost. Between now and July the Council will be working with the festival organisers and the local community to ensure that visitors and Glaswegians alike can enjoy and benefit from our third TRNSMT.”
Having made his TRNSMT debut in 2017, Stormzy will return to TRNSMT on the opening day of the 2019 extravaganza. With one Ivor Novello, two BRIT awards and six MOBOs under his belt, a Friday night at TRNSMT will now feature on the rapper’s ascent to the top.
Top of the bill on the Main Stage on Saturday 13th July, TRNSMT Festival will welcome back Catfish and the Bottlemen to Glasgow. This follows their memorable performance in TRNSMT’s opening year and their outstanding headline show at Summer Sessions Festival in Glasgow last summer.
Magnetic frontman Van McCann clearly holds a special place for the city and its world-renowned crowds, as demonstrated by penning a song on their last album entitled ‘Glasgow’. Their gold-status 2016 album ‘The Ride’, quickly became a fan favourite for singalong anthems ‘7’, ‘Twice’ and ‘Soundcheck’, alongside debut singles and all-round festival bangers ‘Kathleen’ and ‘Homesick’. George Ezra will play the final day of the festival on Sunday 14th July 2019. The singer-songwriter joins the bill, making his return to TRNSMT after a debut slot in its first year.
His album was the biggest selling artist album in the UK in 2019, with number one single ‘Shotgun’ officially the song of the summer according to Spotify. The sophomore album was written, created and inspired by his travels, including spells on the Isle of Skye; at a pig farm in Norfolk; a former cornflour shed in Kent; a converted cow shed in north Wales; and an Airbnb in Barcelona owned by the Tamara of the album’s title.
The result is a finger-snapping, brass-blaring, wind-in-the-hair album that shines with positivity and encouragement, alongside moments of more subdued reflection, making it no surprise that the singer is nominated for three BRITs in 2019.
George Ezra: “It was a special moment playing the first ever TRNSMT in 2017, and to be coming back so soon is very exciting. That summer was my first time playing some of the new songs that went on to form my second album ‘Staying At Tamara’s’, and since then I’ve taken these tunes around the world and back. It’s going to be brilliant to return to Glasgow and play to an audience that has now heard the record, and I hope you’re all up for one very big singalong!”
Also, on the Main Stage on the closing day of TRNSMT are Snow Patrol. Having formed while studying in Dundee, Snow Patrol have become embedded in the fabric of the Scottish music scene, headlining some of the country’s biggest and most legendary venues including The SSE Hydro, T in the Park, King Tut’s and many more. Winning SSE Artist of the Year at last year’s SSE Scottish Music Awards, the band released their first album in seven years in 2018, which sees them searching for clarity, connection, and meaning, while staying true to the melodic songwriting prowess that brought them to prominence. In what will be their TRNSMT Festival debut, DF Concerts can’t wait to bring the band back to their second home of Glasgow next summer, with singalong anthems like ‘Run’, ‘Chasing Cars’ and ‘Just Say Yes’ sure to be amongst the highlights of the weekend.

Gerry Cinnamon will play TRNSMT following his meteoric rise from playing the King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Stage in the opening year in 2017, rising to the Main Stage in 2018, playing to one of the biggest crowds of the weekend. His appearance on the Main Stage in 2019 is sure to be a show that goes down in the TRNSMT history books. Unsigned, Gerry Cinnamon has become a cult hero and force to be reckoned with. His upcoming UK and Ireland headline tour continues his legacy of selling out shows in minutes. Joining Catfish and the Bottlemen on Saturday 13th July are British chart toppers Bastille who will make their TRNSMT debut on the Main Stage.
Bastille said: ‘We’re so excited to be playing TRNSMT for the first time. We had such a great time playing a couple of gigs in Glasgow last week – the Scottish crowds are always so brilliant – and can’t wait to head back to town to play the festival.’

The Wombats said: “The festival crowds up in Scotland are always off the scale, so we’re really excited to be playing TRNSMT this summer!!”
Tom Grennan said: “I’m SOOOOO BUZZIN to get back up to Scotland for this year’s TRNSMT! I have played every one so far and I consider Scotland a second home for me, the fans are simply incredible there. Here we, here we….”
The King Tut’s Stage Powered by Utilita Energy returns for TRNSMT 2019 with Example, The Hunna and Circa Waves, joined by some of the best up and coming stars in the music industry including Mist, Steve Mason, Mystery Jets, Jade Bird, Fontaines DC, The Dunts and more.
