TRNSMT Festival set for Glasgow Green summer debut

25th January 2017 by Paul Trainer

TRNSMT Festival will take place in Glasgow Green from 7-9 July. The announcement fills the hole in the Scottish live music schedule left after it was announced that T in the Park was taking a break. DF Concerts, who are masterminding the new city-based festival, released their first messages on social media earlier today and activated their website.

Glasgow Green has previously seen performances from the likes of the Stone Roses, Oasis, Beck, Primal Scream, Stereophonics and Paul Weller. The East End park played a key part in the celebrations of the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

The new Glasgow music festival solidifies the reputation of the city for high-profile summer gigs with shows at Hampden, Bellahouston Park, The Riverside Museum and the Kelvingrove Bandstand proving there is a demand for such events.

Radiohead and Coldplay have been mentioned as possible headliners. Right now we’re just happy to get this confirmed and the dates in the diary. Here comes the summer!
