Tron Theatre Company present new festive kids show Tinsel Toon

17th November 2017 by Paul Trainer

Tron Theatre Company have devised a brand new festive show for 3-6 year-olds. Designer Anna Orton is transforming the small studio space at the theatre into Tinsel Toon, a charming place where all manner of funny wee characters dwell. Mixing together warm humour, gentle slapstick and creative storytelling, performances run from Thursday 30th November until Sunday 31st December.

Mary Gapinski (The Night After Christmas, Snow Pals, The Elf By Herself) and Isabelle Joss (The Story of the Little Gentleman, The Voice Thief, The Pokey Hat) live in the same Tinsel Toon street, where everyone gets along just fine, going about their daily lives with a pleasant hello and a cheery wave. But then a chill wind blows through the town, neighbours suddenly become less neighbourly and preparations for the Christmas festivities are tinged with more than a little bit of frost. What’s happening to Christmas in Tinsel Toon?

Devised and written by Lisa Keenan (Snow Pals, The Elf By Herself) and with a score by RJ McConnell, Tinsel Toon uses the physicality and comic timing of the two actors to great effect and is a visual treat for wee ones who might still be too young for the Tron’s main house panto.
