Whisky and Seafood Supper Club at A’Challtainn

22nd July 2019 by Paul Trainer

A’Challtainn have always set out to shine a light on the best of Scottish produce. On days like today, it shines particularly bright – the balcony of the restaurant looks out over the inside courtyard at Barras Art and Design. Encased in an arched glass roof, it’s a natural suntrap. One of the few times it is acceptable to wear your sunglasses indoors in the East End.

The wine list and menu have been finessed in recent months, with new summer dishes, but seafood is still the star of the show.

Take note: The lobsters they source are always beautiful. big heavy-weights that could take on any other local challengers.

Expect a mix of small plates and big plates to enjoy with drinks.

Latest summer dishes include Barra scallop carpaccio.

Thursday 15th August sees the next of their Supper Club events.

Here’s the theme: “For our latest Long Table Dining Experience we will be teaming up with Douglas Laing & Co. to bring you an evening of Seafood dishes that will be accompanied by specially curated Whisky cocktails and drams.”

There will be four courses featuring a selection of oysters alongside some signature seafood dishes.

Guests will taste 3 Rock Island Whisky alongside cocktails to match the flavours of the four courses.

Tickets are available here.
