The world’s first Old-Fashioned vending machine is coming to Glasgow this Friday (31st May), dispending delicious serves of The Woodsman whisky at BAaD between 5pm and 9pm.
Whisky cocktails continue to grow in popularity, but sometimes they can take a while to put together. The Woodsman Vending Machine is on a mission to change this and will deliver a quality Old-Fashioned serve to drinkers in a flash. Whisky lovers can build their cocktail, by pulling levers and turning wheels to customise their drink. What happens inside the machine itself remains a closely guarded secret.
The Woodsman is matured using a transatlantic mix of freshly-built oak casks from Ohio (giving a hint of vanilla and spice) and ex-Bourbon barrels double-scorched in Scotland (for extra depth, sweetness, and a hint of woodsmoke).
Rod Gillies, Head of Innovation at Whyte & Mackay, said: “Everyone loves a good Old Fashioned, and our maple syrup version is a cracker. But what would make it even better is being able to get hold of one wherever you are, on demand. So we’re stripping away the rules and complexity which sometimes surround Scotch and making it quick and simple to get a brilliant drink.
“We’ve been touring the UK with the Woodsman vending machine, popping up in various cities and dispensing Old Fashioned cocktails as we go.”
The vending machine is at BAaD (54 Calton Entry, G40 2SB) on May 31st, from 5-9pm.
