There’s very few problems in the world that can’t be solved by a spicy bowl of chicken ramen. Trust us on this. As Pan-Asian cooking is something of a food trend in Glasgow at the moment there are more opportunities to try this comforting and challenging dish. Enter Temaki, a new 25 seater Korean and Japanese fusion restaurant on Hope Street, close to Central Station.
We were introduced to the restaurant on a night for writers and bloggers – the blizzard of Instagram images created as sushi was devoured reflected the colourful and interesting food highlights on the menu.
We’ve been to hundreds of these events over the years and you can tell pretty quickly whether the new restaurant really cares about the food they are serving. The team here are offering distinctive and authentic flavours that will bring us back again and again. We’re all in for the sushi burrito – a taste sensation that’s captured a lot of headlines.
For us, however, the star of the show is the chilli chicken ramen noodles. Fiery and satisfying, this is warming soul food.
Owner Kasla Koziel took her inspiration from Japanese restaurants she visited in San Francisco and New York. “Travelling around the States sampling the best Far Eastern street food – healthy, tasty and so utterly delicious. As soon as I tasted a sushi burrito I knew that I wanted to bring that Japenese Mexican fusion dish to Glasgow.”
We’re glad she did. Explore the dishes at Temaki as soon as possible and put more ramen into your life.
