First Look: The Brunch Club opens today

17th August 2018 by Paul Trainer

Brunch and Glasgow go together. We built this city on Mortons Rolls. All-day breakfast menus continue to quash hangovers and reinvigorate flagging spirits. So, we think The Brunch Club, which opened today, will be a welcome addition to the Yorkhill food scene.

On the menu: Chicken and waffles (£8), steak and eggs (£9), a big fry up with two eggs, two black puddings, lorne and link sausage, haggis, two rashers of bacon, roast tomato, mushrooms, two potato scones and baked beans (£10). The wee breakfast is £7, as is Eggs Benedict and Eggs Hebridean.

Then there’s French toast, pancakes or waffles with a choice of toppings – think banana and walnut with maple syrup, chocolate ganache and peanut almond butter or fresh fruit, vanilla creme, maple syrup or nutella. Their special French toast is served with creme Anglaise and fresh berries.

These dishes and more can be enjoyed 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 6pm at the weekends.

The Brunch Club is on the corner of Old Dumbarton Road previously occupied by The Drugstore Social.
